Ummmm, let me see, hmmm. I'm not judging you, far from it. But as a child of the 80's who grew up in the golden era of the real Miami Vice, this trailer does nothing for me. Zilch. I mean, "You Belong to the City" was played at every high school dance I ever went to. Pastel blazers over t-shirts and loafers with no socks? check. Tubbs was a strange man, but who watched the show for him, anyway? It was all about Mr. Don Johnson. I know he's an old man now and all, but man was he hot back in the day. Every guy wanted to be him. Every girl wanted to be his girlfriend. He was IT.

Now, little boy Colin Farrell wants to pretend to be him?? I DON'T THINK SOOOOOO. I'm not a fan of his anyway, but what is up with that terribly bad bleach job on his hair, and the two-inch-wide black yucky stubbly mustache thing? It's just, well, disgusting.

And I'm all for a hot guy knowing he's hot and the cool swagger that makes you swoon and all that, but a guy can take it too far, and little boy Farrell has done just that. Has he ever heard of, oh I don't know, A SHOWER??? His appeal is completely lost on me. Go grow up, fall a little less in love with yourself, take a bath, and we'll talk.

Jamie Foxx, by the way, no stranger to a big ego himself, does not bother me as much. In fact, he is probably what is going to make the movie bearable. Anyone could do better than the original Tubbs guy anyway.

So, not judging you honey, but just merely in protest of little boys pooping on some of my fondest high school Friday night memories.

Yes, understandable ladies. Colin Farrel would never be able to replace Don Johnson. Perhaps I don't HAVE the right to get into this movie because I never really got into the show! Hmmm... but still, growing up with two older brothers, sometimes I just LOVE the non-stop violent gun using action films. FUN

Stephny, there's nothing wrong at all with you enjoying this movie and anticipating its arrival. I think that most people who didn't watch the original show (or who don't even know that it was based on a TV show) will enjoy it just fine. I'm a little tough on Colin Farrell, but he's just so stinkin into himself that it brings that out in me.

And what's with all the remakes of TV shows, I ask you? Doesn't anybody in Hollywood have an original thought or idea anymore? The trailer doesn't even resemble the TV show except for the names of the lead characters and the fact that they're in Miami. Since the show aired 20 years ago, they could have marketed it as a cool buddy drug cop movie and done just fine, I think. (haha but I still wouldn't have watched it since I'm allergic to little-boy-who-needs-to-wash-his-face Colin Farrell). Oh well, not everybody can be our Mr. Johnny Depp.

But by all means, honey, you go watch the show and enjoy it for both of us. I myself am waiting for Poyrits 2 to come out.

    Hey!
Thanks for the comment on my blog!
I really enjoy yours too, and by reading it, it appears we have much in common. You like to talk about movies, me... music, and then we both like to talk about boys.
and it appears we both have the same breakup tradition... bringin out sex and the city, and the old boyfriends... mine, of course, are musical boyfriends... John Mayer, Ryan Adams, and Joel Plaskett... just to name a few.
I will definatley be checking in on your blog!
hope you had a wonderful day!
